Breathing my Mind into Your Face

Sitting at my desk in the home office waiting for an 11am internal conference call. Feeling antsy after a Liquid IV Energy and 2 big cups of coffee. 

Saturday we took one of our younger son’s parents to dinner and a concert by Har Mar Superstar. The husband is in my golf league and the wife is in the same book club as my wife. They’re a cool couple that likes to party but were unfamiliar with the work of Har Mar. On the half-hour ride to the Mexican restaurant, the husband sat up front with me and he told me how he got psilocybin and MDMA from a company in California that gets deep into the details of what each strand of chemical does to you. I get my psilocybin in the mail from a local provider that operates out of a town where it’s decriminalized. I told him that I take 4 grams and it doesn’t fuck me up too much. Like very light visuals and I don’t feel the need to hide from people. He said I either have a crazy high tolerance or I’m getting crappy shrooms. Not sure, but on the way in to the concert he gave me a disgusting tasting MDMA gummy to accompany my already ingested 3g of psilocybin and regular weed vape intake. 

The concert venue was small but beautiful. There were probably around 75 people at the concert. Har Mar is a middle aged chubby dude that looks like Ron Jeremy. He plays songs with a poppy, r&b, dancey vibe. He has mad charisma on stage and some funny commentary between songs. He came into the crowd and we huddled around him for a slow song. Then he danced with us and took his shirt off. For his encore he came out in some 80’s Royal Tennenbaums red and white shorts with no shirt. He was popping that mushroom cap for the crowd to enjoy. I had a blast because I enjoyed the show without worrying about if others were judging my behavior. Our friends were pretty taken aback, but they had a great time and made a new musical discovery. I was a little bummed to learn the next day that he has some #metoo stuff in his past where did some sexual harassing and assaulting. He did apologize and said he wants to be a better human. I do love those tunes, so I’m going to hope he’s mended fences and now better understands it’s not cool to wave your dick in someone’s face.
