Key lime pie in the summer time.
Root beer float on a boat
Conch fritter conch fritter
But that tartare sauce too bitter.
That’s a song by Vulfmon and some other dude. Catchy little number I played for the boys, knowing they’d want to hear it again. Now we’re all singing it around the house. It’s something to bond over since I’m not having much luck getting info from them about how their day was when we’re eating dinner.
I get a little more conversation out of them at bedtime. After J was belittling H for not reading at a high enough level and wasting his time on graphic novels, while telling me he didn’t want to read, I told him to focus on himself not others. To work on himself and what he can do to keep getting better. Then he talked about how his voice sounded kind of like a robot because of his cold. He also asked me what a conch fritter was. So I filled him in on that along with my theory that the tartare sauce was likely for dipping the conch fritters. After saying goodnight I tucked Harrison into the passenger side of my bed to read with mom. We talked a little about the wipeout he had on the e-scooter tonight, to tell me he was okay and show me his scratches. I told him what a conch fritter was. He wondered if that had really been a meal the band had. Did they enjoy a root beer float on a boat. Was the tartare sauce really too bitter. And can you confirm the tartare sauce was in fact meant for dipping the fritter. There seemed no doubt they’d had and enjoyed key lime pie in the summertime, as we to had ourselves.
Last night we talked about the meaning of life for a bit. I said something about finding what you’re passionate about and pursuing it relentlessly, helping others, trying to leave the world better than you found it. I don’t know, I was scrambling in my mind trying to think of shit about the meaning of life.
Anyway, on my way out of my bedroom I crossed paths with my wife and we hugged for a solid two minutes as I felt on her booty. I apologized for my monofocus on work during the day today, preventing a mid-morning delight. We’ll try again tomorrow if the stars align. I’ll refrain from jerking off tonight so I’m extra horned up.
